Sunday, 500km
Ayrton: “That’s the 500km of Hockenheim complete. A tricky weekend to say the least, but we done a fabulous job in the race to finish P4 considering we started from the pit-lane. The race itself was tricky after other drivers made contact with Jonathan, meaning we had minor steering damage after only 20 minutes. A questionable drive through penalty for speeding in the re-fuelling area also damaged our race time massively. But the character was there from everyone in the team and we managed a brilliant result considering a damage limitation weekend. Off to the summer break we head now with a long gap in between rounds.”
Saturday, Free Practice…
Ayrton: “A tricky day in the office. A car from the refuelling area pulled out right in front of me and we collided as I was about to start the Free Practice session. The damage was repairable but the impact somehow blew the motor for the power steering. No one in the paddock had the spare so my team drove a remarkable 300km and back to be able to get the spare. Unfortunately we were just a few minutes too late, so we will start tomorrow’s race from the back of the grid.”
“The good news is that I was able to fit a few laps in before the checkered flag and the car feels good for tomorrow. I want to thank everyone at @tscorse for the incredible effort today, their commitment was surreal to witness. On to tomorrow with our heads held high and a good result in mind.”
